here it is, another movie list. :)

top ten favorite romantic comedy heroines
(character name, movie, actress, comments)

1. lucy eleanor moderatz; while you were sleeping; sandra bullock
- even people who "sit in a booth like a veal" can find romance. i love how she's a little clumsy, stutters, can't dress very well, and can't tell the truth to the family of a man in a coma.
- she saved a guy from the train tracks. how much more heroine can you get?

2. emma woodhouse; emma; gwyneth paltrow
- tries really hard to help her friends but isn't very good at it. but she's got a good heart and really cares about her family and friends.
- gets to wear really cool dresses and has a killer british accent.
- jeremy northam as mr. knightley ... niiice.

3. bridget jones; bridget jones’ diary; renee zellweger;
- a little overweight, a little single, and one big foot in her mouth equals a lovable character who almost all women can relate to.
- hello? colin firth/mark darcy?

4. elle woods; legally blonde; reese witherspoon
- someone who doesn't let her blondeness or apparent ditziness get in the way of getting what she wants; determination and resolve are her best qualities.
- how DID she get a 179 on her lsat's?
- wearing pink never hurt anyone... :)

5. josie gellar(aka josie grossie); never been kissed; drew barrymore
- socially awkward and such a nerd - but an honest writer and deep thinker.
- flirting with the english teacher... tsk tsk! (but hey, who could resist michael vartan?)

6. mia thermopolis (aka princess mia); the princess diaries; anne hathaway
- overcomes her awkwardness and fear of public speaking; handles the paparazzi with composure, even if she goofs a little here and there.
- dude, if i found out my grandma was a queen i'd be psyched!

7. kathleen kelly; you’ve got mail; meg ryan
- the typical meg ryan character: charming and sweet, has a little bit of a hard time expressing her anger, and as usual, finds herself falling out of love with the original guy and in love with the real hero of the story.
- meg ryan and tom hanks make the perfect onscreen couple.

8. agent gracie hart (aka gracie lou freebush); miss congeniality; sandra bullock
- follows her intuition and is passionate about her work
- isn't afraid to eat fatty foods and chew with her mouth open, but somehow still manages to fit into that tiny little dress.
- knows self defense and kicks benjamin bratt's butt.

9. beatrice; much ado about nothing; emma thompson

- knows how to make great comebacks with her sharp tongue; righteous indignation and love for her cousin hero.

10. danielle de bergerac; ever after; drew barrymore
- isn't afraid to tell the prince off and throw him over her shoulders; saves herself from the creepy mustache man, and gives her stepsister a black eye. this is cinderella meets independent woman.
- friends in high places: leonardo davinci helped her get to the ball! (why was she wearing wings anyway?)

honorable mentions

andie anderson; how to lose a guy in 10 days; kate hudson
has perhaps one of the best lines in all romantic comedies: "our love fern! you let it diiiiie!!"

kat stratfield (aka the shrew); 10 things i hate about you; julia stiles
has a major attitude problem but is really intelligent and somewhat of a feminist.

cher horowitz; clueless; alicia silverstone - for all the same reasons i love emma, plus 90s high school fashion and oversized cell phones.

some may say it's because i'm weird. some may say it's because i have nothing better to do. some may even say, GET A LIFE. but, here it is folks, the result of a boring day at work, my weirdness, and my lack of having anything else to do at the office. and, it has been a while since my last top ten. so we could say, this is for old time's sake.

My Top Ten Favorite Male Actors (not based on acting ability or even on looks. just based on my particular preferences) and the Movies that won me over.

9. heath ledger - 10 things i hate about you, a knight’s tale
8. eric bana - troy
7. hugh jackman - x-men/x2

5. luke wilson - legally blonde, charlie's angels
4. james marsden - x-men/x2
3. colin firth - bridget jones' diary, love actually
2. michael vartan - never been kissed
1. jeremy northam - emma, an ideal husband

now before you get all i-can't-believe-you-betrayed-me... yes, i started a xanga. but it's for a worthy cause, i swear!

http://www.xanga.com/aaslc

the xanga is for the noble purpose of publicizing for the asian american student leadership conference, for which i am in charge of the website and administration. make sure you check it out! it will keep you up to date with any news on the conference, as well as who is registering! (so far, no one has registered. but that will all change once you see the website and get so excited you feel convicted to register right then and there!)

okay, that's all for now. haveaniceday!
