movies i've seen this summer:

shrek 2 - hilarious.  definitely a well-made sequel.  i think it paid heed to the reality of post-wedding bliss.  the romance does not end with the wedding, there is a marriage that matters more!  :)

13 going on 30 - surprisingly cute.  i thought it'd be dumb, but i liked it.  not recommended for people who don't enjoy jennifer garner dancing to michael jackson's thriller.

the notebook - okay, same author who wrote a walk to remember, i can handle the sap.  it was touching, to say the least.  lindsay kept whispering in my ear "that's not in the book!!!" - so i guess it was sort of oversexualized?  hmm, surprise surprise, hollywood.

spiderman 2 - AWESOMEst movie of the summer.  :)  i liked that the movie was still kind of silly and cheesy, it reminded us that it is after all, based on the comic books.  i didn't really like mary jane's orangish hair though... it's supposed to be RED, get it right!  can't wait for #3!

i-robot - i liked it!  i think some people had higher expectations, but i really didn't know what to expect, so i thought it was good, and very much in will smith's style.  although i didn't appreciate seeing his barenaked bottom in the first 2 minutes of the movie!

harold and kumar go to white castle - i saw this one last night at a free screening!  definitely a funny movie, and it was cool seeing a film whose main characters were both asian, and with absolutely no subtitles!  beware of harsh language and dirty jokes.  overall very funny and interesting to see asians making a bigger impact in film.

so, i guess i've liked every movie i've seen this summer.  some more than others of course.  other movies i still want to see?  umm... actually, i'm embarrassed to say, but i want to watch princess diaries 2!  haha, i have the first one and just watched it this week.  what can i say i enjoy cheesiness.  i can't really think of any others... maybe king arthur?  i heard that was good.

okay, enough of the movie thing.  just wanted to blog and babble.  what movies have you guys liked this summer?

so, i'm back from another huntington retreat! i must say, God is GOOD. although my body was exhausted, my spirit was full and blessed. not only did i have the opportunity to get to know the kids, i also found friendship in the other couneslors. and on top of all that, God taught me so much through the speaker's messages. so, really, God wanted me to be there! isn't it cool knowing the reason for God's plans? so often we have to just trust Him and believe that things are going according to His plan, but this time, i could actually see His purpose in everything. Praise God for letting me see that.

now i am back at home and back to normal life. things around here are not too exciting. but i guess i'll just have to make use of my free time. i should be glad that i don't have to get up early or do work or whatever. :) okay, just checkin' in. see ya!
