changes
currently eating: cheese - leftover from our office's party last friday for a coworker's retirement. there was so much food left that i don't even plan on eating the lunch i brought! yay for free food. :)
yesterday (and i guess this past week in general) was full of reminders that life is changing. i know this sounds very cheesy and cliché, but i can't help but feel a pang of nostalgia and bittersweet sentiments about the things going on in my life these days.
this summer, more people are graduating, getting married, having babies, and moving away than ever before... the kids in high school that i work with at church were born in the 90s and in many ways are completely new generation of youth... it is increasingly more difficult to keep up with all the changes going on in the lives of the people around me. many relationships have done a 180º turn since just a few years ago. while these changes have brought a newfound revelation of who i am, and who God is, i can't help but wish that i could relive those ignorantly blissful days of my teenage years, back when things seemed simpler and when i was a little less wise about the facts of life. i seem to be resistant to God's tugging on my heart and my life to new and more profound things. perhaps it is because those things are still uncertain and unknown... perhaps it is because i only like to remember the good memories about my past instead of the mistakes and failures i had to go through... whatever it is, i guess i'm just going through growing pains... not necessarily because i myself am changing, but my environment and the people around me are. i suppose that i could say that i am changing since i am deeply impacted by my environment and people in my life (that's def an org studies major speaking!)
anyway, i wish i had a nice happy conclusion to these thoughts going through my head, but i don't... i guess i just have to keep going and hope that as changes are happening, it will result in growth and transformation for the better, and for the glory of God.
