american idol meets the backstreet boys

so kenny was telling me that all i talk about in this blog is either american idol or the backstreet boys. well, today i get to talk about BOTH!

if you didn't catch last night's AI, anthony (the russian dude, who actually sort of looks like nick carter) sang bsb's "incomplete" for the current top 40s theme! i was so elated, i yelled for my mom to come watch. she said she thought i had seen a spider or something when she heard me frantically yelling. haha...

anyway, so he didn't do that well, but not bad. randy said "compared to the backstreet boys it was only a 5 out of 10." thanks randy for giving the boys props! hehe... paula said it was a challenge to sing a song performed by a group but he did well, and simon said it was a "perfect song choice" and he did a good job.

so regardless of that, i was mostly excited because now 30 million people got exposed to their new song, and that can only be good publicity for the boys. yay!

i'm actually thinking that anthony will get voted off this week, because although scott should have been gone a long time ago, this week i think he did better than anthony. so...we'll see. carrie, bo and vonzell all did really well on both of their songs in my opinion. it'll be a tough race at the final 3.

in other backstreet news, they debuted on trl at #8! i also saw a commercial during american idol that played "the perfect fan" (from their millennium album) for some mother's day thing. it was very cute. yay... yesterday was a good day for the Boys and for me cuz i actually have something to write about today!
